Mini MAC Haul

It was my 21st birthday on April 16 and to celebrate, I met up with my mum in Manchester. Although I had asked for money towards a car, I decided to spend a little bit of it. I hadn't tried a new makeup product for a while and with summer round the corner, I felt I needed a seasonal uplift. My Auntie had booked me in at MAC to have a makeover and then receive store credit to spend on anything I liked.

The first thing I wanted was a more bronzey blush as I always opt for those which are matte and orange-based. The above photo makes me look quite tanned but don't let it fool you - there isn't even a hint of sunkissed colour in my cheeks. I went for Cheeky Bronze which I actually have found works as a highlighter if lightly applied. The product lasts all day without using a setting spray or powder and the colour is really beautiful and rather natural despite the shimmer.

When I picked this, the lady also told me I could use it as a bronzer but I much prefer a natural, matte bronzer which isn't too dissimilar to my natural skin colour. It was £23, but as I don't wear makeup everyday it will last me a long time. I'm not into the whole Kardashian contour look. In fact, I'm not so sure I even suit it... Which leads me on to my next purchase.

I picked up one of the natural mineralise skinfinish powders in the colour Medium Golden. Again, this was £23 but should last me a while unless I get a little brush-happy and annihilate it.  It sets my foundation beautifully and I've even used it as a light bronzer to add slight colour to my cheeks when I'm not wearing a base.

The next few products are (surprise, surprise) for my lips.

I was actually bought these as a gift from my stepsisters. The first is a Cremesheen lipstick in the colour Pure Zen. It cost £15.50 (I looked it up).

I'm sorry for the bad picture - it isn't metallic like the picture below looks but it does have the slightest shimmer which looks far more like a glossy shine.

Pure Zen is actually a frosty, warm-toned nude. The Cremesheen lipsticks have a rich creamy texture and a great colour payoff. 

The next colour is MAC Red from the Satin collection. Again, this was £15.50. I have never bought a Satin but I definitely would now I have tried it. MAC Red is a blueish-red shade and semi-matte. It lasts longer than the Cremesheen but not quite as long as the Retro Mattes. It doesn't bleed into the skin around your lips - an issue I often have.

The final thing in the haul is a £12.50 lip liner in the shade Redd. It goes perfectly with the MAC Red lipstick (above). It's super long-lasting and helps the lipstick to stay on for longer. I usually fill in my entire lip as well as lining the outside just to keep it on longer and help the colour pop.

ELLE Insider Mystery Serum || Day Eight

I missed posting the last few days due to a family issue, end of semester work and a birthday so I have a fair amount to say today.

In case you haven't read my previous posts, I applied to receive a free sample of a mystery serum from ELLE magazine a while ago. It arrived on Monday, December 8, much to my surprise!

The product came in a plain bottle with no hints as to who created it and I have been using it two of three times a day since Monday.

Today is day eight of using it and I still have over half the bottle left. So here is my complete round-up of the product over the past eight days...

Results: Wow. Eight days and my skin is noticeably smoother - even my friend noticed that my cheeks looked smooth which is incredibly impressive. My skin does feel firmer but then again, I am only 20 and there probably isn't that much loose skin for it to sort out. It feels like such a light formula and my sensitive skin doesn't react at all to it. Over the eight days, I tried my Clarins Daily Energiser cream, Estée Lauder Advanced Time Zone moisturiser, Garnier Moisture Match and a Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser. The serum worked wonderfully under all of them but I definitely found it worked best under the Clarins one. I tried applying this over my make-up a couple of times. This was a little strange for me as I have never applied a serum over make-up. I was worried that I would rub off my foundation or that it would smudge or melt. Apart from it feeling a little alien, I found that I looked a little shiny afterwards. Initially, I thought it was because I had done a lot of walking but the second time I wore make-up (day 5), I had the same result. This wouldn't bother someone who carried a make-up bag and you don't HAVE to apply it over make-up - it's just an option.

Price Estimate: This is a complete guess as I know absolutely nothing about the product or who made it but I would imagine it would retail at around £55 - £60 for a 50ml bottle.

Smell: As I have mentioned in previous posts, it has a soft, rosy scent and it is absolutely beautiful. I never opt for floral things but it is so subtle and sweet that it really does not bother me or make me feel nauseous.

Texture: Originally, I moaned about the texture because I did not use enough of it so I felt it was a little too jelly-ish. It isn't like this at all. I realised that on the first use, I squeezed out blobs which were full of air bubbles, not the serum. I have now found that the texture is totally fine, not sticky and my skin absorbs it nicely.

Brand: Like I have said, I still think it could be Clarins except for the fact that I am almost certain Clarins have recently brought out a serum. I then thought it could be Estée Lauder but they already have some wonderful serums so I'm not entirely sure about them either. I feel like I should have been able to guess by now but i really really can't! I think I'm leaning more towards Estée Lauder though.

Overall, I would definitely spend my money on this product. I have loved testing it out for ELLE and I would recommend it to anyone with old or young skin. If I notice a difference on my skin, then I can only imagine what it could do for someone who had rougher or older skin than I do.

ELLE Insider Mystery Serum || Day Four

It's day four of the mystery serum and I am absolutely loving it.

My skin feels incredible.

I applied it to a clean face at about 8:40am. I used a different moisturiser (Garnier Moisture Match) and found that I needed a tiny bit more than usual. Like I said in previous posts, this product could be Clarins because it just works so well with my Clarins moisturiser.

I would like it to be something like Kiehl's or Charlotte Tilbury or some other brand that I am desperate to try but can't quite justify on my student budget but hey-ho. I doubt it.

I reapplied it at around 1pm and then again before putting on my make-up to go for a meal at 5:50pm.

My skin feels unbelievably smooth on my cheeks and I definitely think it is a little firmer too.

I haven't taken any photographs today because I received some bad news and I'm a bit blotchy but I'll definitely have some snaps up tomorrow!

ELLE Insider Mystery Serum || Day Three

Even the best of us sometimes go to sleep with our make-up on.

In an attempt to test this mystery serum to its absolute extremes, I made a conscious effort last night to sleep in my make-up from the day. When I got up, instead of using a face wash, I had a good old scrub with a make-up wipe. I also didn't go to sleep until 5am. No reason for this. I just wasn't tired & I was socialising.

I basically reenacted the morning after a night out when you wake up and realise you're late for something and your daily beauty regime just doesn't fit into your pressed schedule.

I know this isn't good but I wanted to be a little harsh on my skin to see if the serum is actually any good at all.

Thoughts:

To say my skin looked pretty weathered for a 20-year-old this morning, I actually feel a little more alive this evening. I applied the serum twice today and I definitely feel that it has pulled my skin back into shape after I pulled at it with the wipe.

My skin also feels a heck of a lot smoother which is amazing. I'm having a bit of a pimple-problem at the moment. I have been feeling really bobbly on my nose and forehead but the serum has definitely helped over the last three days.

I'm still loving the mystery product from ELLE.

I'm starting to doubt my initial thoughts of this being a Clarins product simply because I don't associate rose scents with Clarins. I feel like they usually opt for a clean, cream smell.

ELLE Insider Mystery Serum || Day Two

Day two!

For those who may not know about the mystery serum, check out yesterday's post here.

I got up nice and early this morning as I had to go to crown court to report a sentencing. So I made myself a nice mug of black coffee, washed my face, got back into bed and applied the Elle mystery serum.

Yep, that black line at the bottom of the second image is my boob. I don't own a tripod and I had no where to rest the camera apart from my chest. I'm sorry. I'm not a professional photographer!

Today, I changed I used three blobs - one less than yesterday. I found that yesterday, each drop of serum was quite small so I was a little more generous today and it was fine. It spread beautifully and I no longer have an issue with it being a gel.

After the serum, I applied the same moisturiser as yesterday which was the Clarins Daily Energizer Cream. It works so well with the serum that I didn't want to try anything else today!

I then applied some make-up. I wore primer, foundation, concealer, highlighter on my cheekbones, mascara and eyeshadow. I was going to apply bronzer and blusher and everything else but as I was going to court, I did not want to overdo it.

 So here I am, ready for the day and forever unable to take normal photographs...

I reapplied the serum over my make-up at about 1pm - it spread far easier over my foundation so I was a little scared that it would rub off. I applied it in more of a patting motion than a sweeping motion this time.

Thoughts:

I did not notice much of a difference today. The very first application did make my skin feel a little more plump but nothing as dramatc as yesterday. The second application showed no visible effects but it is only day two and I have five more days.

I still love the rosey smell and as I have already mentioned, the texture is far better now I'm not being so stingy.

The only issue I have today is that I did feel it added a slight shine to my face after the second application. Maybe this was because of the serum, maybe because of my make-up or maybe because I had been walking a heck of a lot. I never carry a make-up bag with me so I did not have anything to blot my face with.

Overall, it is only day two and I am still liking this mystery serum enough to know that I would part wih my money to buy it.

ELLE Insider Mystery Serum || Day One

Hello, my lovelies!

I am sorry for straying away these past couple of months - university is getting hectic! On top of my course, I work one day a week at my local paper (ha, "one day a week"... I'm doing stuff for them most days).

I have a really exciting post today.

A while ago, I applied to receive a free sample of a mystery serum from ELLE magazine. Lucky me, it arrived today (December 8)! Five of the samplers will get the chance to go to London and meet the ELLE Beauty team - fingers crossed!

So here I am, fresh out of bed, with no makeup and horrible yellow hair (sorry for betraying you, Toni & Guy - I have learned my lesson). I washed my face this morning with Simple Moisturising Facial Wash as I wanted to keep it, well... Simple! I didn't want to exfoliate as I have quite dry skin at the moment and I find exfoliating more than once-a-week causes my skin to flake.

The mystery serum arrived in a clear glass bottle with a black, pipette-style applicator. ELLE have described this product as a "gel-serum that instantly firms, lifts and plumps the skin to leave it looking dramatically smoother, tighter and more youthful."

I'm going to be putting on my Clarins Daily Energizer Cream afterwards.

The way I applied this was the same as how I apply my current serum, the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (click for review).

ELLE said to use two or three drops but as it is a gel, I found it harder to spread than a slightly more liquid-like serum. I popped a little blob on each of my four fingertips and touched them with the fingers on my other hand. Then I just massaged it into my face starting at the centre of my forehead, lightly drawing round to my temples and down towards my mouth. I then put my fingers on my nose and swept them out towards my ears. I'm not sure if this is the correct way to apply it but it works for me and I don't want to drag my skin too much.

I did not put this product around my eyes as the skin is about 40 per cent thinner and I'm not sure if this product is meant for that area so I avoided it.

Initial thoughts:  

This might sound a little crazy, but I swear I could feel the product working the second I put it on which is phenomenal. It felt as though my skin was being pulled just that little bit tighter. My moisturiser went on beautifully afterwards. I usually have to apply a fairly generous amount of my Clarins cream as my skin just absorbs it in seconds but I used half the amount today.

I know I am only 20 so my skin isn't exactly sagging but my forehead and cheeks definitely feel more plump.

I have sensitive skin and I have not reacted at all to this product.

I love the smell of the serum. Usually, I am not one to go for floral/rose-scented products but it so subtle and sweet that I actually like it. 

My only qualm with this serum is the texture. As a student, I feel I would go through a lot more of this than I would with my Estée Lauder because the gel does not spread as well. My bank account might struggle a little. However, the way it plumps my skin makes up for the fact I need an extra blob each time I apply it. I do not get that plumpness with the Advanced Night serum.

I have absolutely no clue who this product might be made by. Judging by the softness of the smell and the way it works so beautifully with my moisturiser, I would like to say Clarins but I could be completely off. I am also pretty sure that Clarins have already released a pretty good serum this year. I would not be surprised if it turned out to be Estée Lauder because their serums always work so well and this one would be like the next-gen thing for them.

Today, I decided to go make-up free because that is what I usually do and I wanted to see how this product would work for me on a regular day. I will be applying a full face tomorrow and I will even try applying the product over my make-up as it says you can do.

Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Mrs. Mia Wallace lipstick review

Like most people, I've been itching to get my hands on the Urban Decay Pulp Fiction range which hit America months ago. 

I went into my local Debenhams today to visit the Urban Decay counter and found that they had completely run out of the Mrs. Mia Wallace Revolution Lipstick which I the item I had most been looking forward to! The woman was new on the job and she tried to offer me similar colours from their normal range but I have to admit, I didn't want to even consider them. I love Pulp Fiction. It's definitely in my top 3 favourite films (along with A Clockwork Orange and all of the Lord of the Rings films... Or does that make it my top 5?).

Whilst she was looking at other colours, she came across one final lipstick which had fallen to the bottom of the drawer! Of course, I instantly bought it.

The lipstick retails at £15 and it is one of those "get it before it's gone" items - they won't be making any more once stock has gone, which is unfortunate because I would definitely buy this again.

The packaging is amazing. I really should have taken some more photos to show you the shimmery black tube. Never mind.

It's a very classic shade of dark red but somehow, it definitely has the edge over all other dark red lippies that Urban Decay sell (or maybe I'm just biased). I don't like glossy looks and this certainly isn't glossy but it does have a nice shine and the pigmentation is incredible. I have only just bought this item but I have had it on my lips for the past 2 hours and it hasn't budged despite me dunking biscuits in my tea.

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Streak || Review

Managed to get my hands on this little baby! 

I believe this colour (along with two others) doesn't come out in the UK until the end of the month but I could be wrong. I know you can definitely get them in the States.

This is the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette in the colour Streak. It's £22 for 0.49oz. I always like to look at prices from a student budget, and I think this is totally affordable!

You get a bronzer, highlighter and blush in one palette. If I were to buy all three products individually, it would cost me at least double so I found this to be a bargain.

The palette comes in a soft coppery/rosy coloured, plastic case. It isn't metallic like the Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes. If you've seen the original Flushed palette, then it's the same as that. The lid opens and shuts easily and it has a very slight magnetic pull to it to keep it shut in your makeup bag.

The original Naked Flushed palette is now called "Naked". For those that don't know, it contains a medium shade satin bronzer, a pale pink champagne-ish highlighter and a rose satin blush.

The other two new palettes are called Native (medium bronzer with a shimmer in it, a pale pink highlighter and a bright pink, matte blush which is super pigmented) and Strip (darkest bronzer of the palettes, a beautiful golden highlighter and a deep mauve, matte blush).

Bronzer: The Streak palette has the lightest shade bronzer so it's ideal for my pale skin and helps me achieve that natural look that I aim for. It's matte but on closer inspection, there is the slightest shimmer. This was another selling point for me. I like everything in matte. I don't mind a shimmer highlighter, of course, but I like everything else to be matte.

Highlighter: The palette contains a peachy highlighter which blends so beautifully with the blush. It's super shimmery and gorgeous.

Blush: I don't think I suit bright pink blush so I usually opt for corals or peachy shades (not orange though). As you can see below, this palette contains a coral-y blush which was 100% the biggest selling point for me. It also has a matte finish. What more could I want?!

You can blend the different parts together or put them on individually to create different looks. I chose Streak over the others because I think it suits my skin tone best. I don't like blushers which are too pink so this peachy colour really won me over as it isn't too orange or too pink. The trio isn't too powdery so it looks as natural as possible which is perfect for me.

Disclaimer: This review is 100% me. I BOUGHT this product. Urban Decay did not send it to me. The lady at a makeup counter brought me one from the back. I will not say which city/town I bought this in as I do not want her to get in trouble for selling me something too early. I always go to her when I want Urban Decay products - this is why she sold it to me.

Lush - Rub Rub Rub review

Back in April, I received a bunch of complimentary goodies from Lush (see my unboxing post here). 

On April 22, I reviewed the Comforter Bubble Bar and in that post (read here), I said I would review the other product that I had tested "tomorrow" i.e. April 23. In case you haven't guessed, I didn't review said product.

Almost a month later, and here it is - my Rub Rub Rub review!

Rub Rub Rub is first and foremost a body scrub but wait... what's this? It can be used on your hair? Um... 

Here are the facts:

☮ It contains 10 natural ingredients and 6 safe synthetics

☮ None of the ingredients were tested on animals

☮ It's vegan

☮ It costs £8.50 for a 330g tub (my tub is only 130g - I don't know how much this would cost)

My experience?

Smell-wise, it's amazing as expected. It has a jasmine/blossom smell to it and it is absolutely lovely. I'm not one for floral scents at all - not even in perfume. But this smelt wonderfully sweet and not too flowery at all. 

It has a bright blue colour to it which made me a little excited, if I'm honest. It's the small things in life...

The scrub can be used on dry skin for an intense exfoliating session or in the shower/bath.

It's made with fine sea salt which to me sounded a little bit scary but mostly just strange. Why? Well, salt is supposed to dry out your skin and hair and this product claims to "wash, volumise and add shine to hair".  

Fortunately, Rub Rub Rub leaves my skin feeling significantly softer after each use. When used on your hair, it removes unwanted oils and exfoliates your scalp. Weirdly, it did give my hair a little volume and I have completely flat hair normally.

Overall, I really liked this product. I loved the colour, smell and the results. You don't really need to use much at all so the cost is justifiable if you're on a student budget, like myself. I'd probably rate this an 8 out 10.

Naked Palette 3 || Review

I'm a little late to jump on the Urban Decay Naked 3 bandwagon... But what can you expect from a broke student?! 

I recently won the first stages of a local style competition. Round two commences tomorrow! For some reason, I find it really embarrassing that I won...

Anyway, the prize was a £100 gift voucher for the shopping centre. Naturally, the first thing I bought was the Naked 3 palette. Eek!

I've had a little bit of time to play around with it and by "play around", I mean I've tried two make-up looks and basically just stuck to them.

This palette costs £37.00, just like the other two Naked palettes. You get 12 brand new full-sized eye shadows. I love the fact that all the colours are new. You also get a double ended brush which has a flat shader on one side and blending brush on the other. I love that both the brush and the case are kinda rose gold themselves. The case is made from some kind of metal. I actually prefer this packaging to the original Naked palette.

 Look how wonderfully rosy they are! 

You also get four free samples of the Urban Decay eye shadow Primer Potions. The first one you get is the original and it's probably my favourite because it's invisible once on.  The next one is called Eden and this one is a nude matte shade. Again, really nice. The next two I haven't actually tried yet. One is called Sin which apparently has a hint of shimmer and the last one is Anti-ageing which does what it says. Each sample comes in a little pod and has a few weeks worth of primer in each.

If I'm honest, It took me a while to get into it. I fell in love with the original Naked palette instantly and I thought it would be the same with this one. Before I owned it, I wanted it so much. I love how all the colours are kind of rose gold or a taupe-y or mauve-y version of rose gold. Even the darkest shade, Blackheart, has little red flecks in it which I think is a lovely touch. But when I actually went to use the palette for the first time, I found that I didn't really know what to do with the colours. I wasn't sure which to mix to get certain looks. 

After playing around for a while, I have realised that I love this palette just as much as I thought I would. I have quite green eyes so pinky shades really make my eyes pop. I also love the smoothness of the shadows and the fact that they are all really pigmented - something that I think is a common thread in all Urban Decay eye-shadows.

The first four shades:

The first colour in the palette is called "Strange". I presume most people use it to highlight their brow bones and maybe the inner corners of the eye which is exactly how I use it. I really like this colour. It's possibly my favourite brow bone highlighter ever. At first glance, it looks matte but it actually has a really light shimmer to it which I think is so beautiful. It's kind of an ivory shade but has a very slight pinky tone to it once applied.

The second colour is "Dust". It's a light, metallic, glittery pink. Super girly. The glitter is kind of big and you can really see the glitter chunks.. "Glitter chunks" - I come up with some weird phrases.

The third colour is "Burnout" and it's a satin pink colour. Not quite as pink as Dust but I actually prefer this colour and I'm wearing it in the corners of my eyes right now. It is a perfect shade for wearing all over the lid though.

Next we have "Limit" which is one of the two matte shades in the palette. I absolutely love this colour. It's a light dusty rose and it's prefect as a blending/transition colour in the crease.

The next five colours:

The fifth colour in the palette is "Buzz". This is a metallic rose shade with little bits of silver glitter. Super pretty and super pink.

Next is "Trick". For me, this is THE rose gold colour in the palette - it's metallic and beautiful.

The next colour is the second matte shadow and it's called "Nooner". This is my favourite colour in the palette. It works perfectly in the crease and is a dusky, mauve-y kinda colour. I sometimes like to use this on my lower lash line too.

The eighth colour is called "Liar" and it's a metallic mauve shade with a rosy shimmer.

"Factory" is the next colour and it's a satin brown. Really pretty and easy to pack onto your lids.

The final three shadows:

The tenth colour is "Mugshot". It's like a metallic taupe. I love this colour - I've been using it loads.

"Darkside" is the next colour and this is a satin grey taupe with a rosy hint to it. I love this for the outer corners of the eye. 

The final shade is "Blackheart" and this is black with little pink or red sparkles. I can't quite tell! Either way, it's perfect for creating a smokey eye but the pink/red glitter "chunks" make it just that little bit softer. I actually feel like this is something you could wear in the day quite easily.

Overall, I love how unique this palette is. It's completely different to the other two Naked palettes.

Lush - The Comforter Bubble Bar Review

A few weeks ago, I received a box full of complimentary goodies from Lush and I put up an unboxing post. It was very brief and I promised I would review each item after I have tried them.

So far, I have only tested out two items and I will blog about one of them tomorrow. The product I want to quickly talk about today is The Comforter Bubble Bar. 

Here are the facts:

☮ To use, break off a piece and crumble in your hand under hot water

My experience?

Unfortunately, I jumped into using it and didn't take a photo beforehand. Sorry!

Well, the first thing I noticed about this product was the smell. It has a sweet blackcurrant scent but it definitely isn't too overpowering. As you can see from the image above, I used about a third of it for my bath. Lush recommend you use half of it but I honestly think that a third is enough. 

See for yourself (please ignore the grimy tiles and bath handles - it is my bf's uni house. We cleaned it, promise!):

The bath water turned a lovely rosy pink and it smelt so dreamy. My muscles and limbs felt brand new afterwards!

I'm not a bath person. I usually feel as though my lungs are closing up and I'm soaking in my own dirt. But I thoroughly enjoyed this particular bath. In fact, I bought a bottle of Radox bubble bath shortly afterwards! Well done, Lush. 

The best part? My skin didn't react at all to this product. Though, I am currently recovering from an all-over face rash after using a Clarins moisturiser twice... Nightmare.

The one thing I have to moan about is the cost. £4.50 for three baths (or two baths if you follow the recommendations)? No, thank you. I'm a student and I cannot afford that. It would make a nice little gift for someone at Christmas or on their birthday but unless I was a member of the Made In Chelsea cast, I could not justify spending £1.50 each time I wanted to bathe.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I love this product but I did really enjoy using it. I still have one bath's worth of bubbles left which I'm saving for after my uni deadline day. Out of 10, I'd probably rate this a 5. The cost really ruined it for me and because of this reason, and this reason alone, I will not be buying it in the future. However, I would recommend trying it at least once. Perfect for a pamper evening!

LUSH Haul/Unbox

After a 9am-5pm day of being chief sub-editor for the StaffsLive pages at uni, I was greeted at home by this...

Eek!

I can already smell it...

I don't shop at LUSH often. When I do, it will always be done online, despite having a store in my local shopping centre. The smell always gives me a headache so I never ever browse in there. The one time that I decided to actually go into the store and have a look around, I managed to (slightly) damage my phone. Typical, huh? 

I reached up for a product that was just above my eye level and pulled it off the shelf to read the label on the side. Unbeknown to me, the Marilyn hair treatment had no lid and had started pouring onto my phone that I had placed on the countertop. It was only when my fingers started to feel cold that I realised my phone had been engulfed in the yellow, gloopy treatment! 

The staff were incredibly helpful, but my phone speaker was no longer working so I could not make any calls (as a journalist, this is a bit of a nightmare). In a bit of a rage, I took to Twitter to cool down and have a little rant. I know this isn't the store's fault and any LUSH addict (and I know there are a lot of you out there!) will know that LUSH don't provide lids for any of their testers. Obviously, I wasn't aware of this policy.

The LUSH Twitter team advised that I email them the specifics of what happened. At this point, my phone speaker had improved (I made sure I told them this) and I was very polite in the email. Worse things could have happened, I am sure! 

I received a response saying they had spoken to my local store and were sending me a  parcel of complimentary goodies! 

Lovely!

So, the box arrived... The huge box.

Inside the box was...

Millions of polystyrene Wotsits ("Wotsits" are crisps, for those who are unsure). 

Under this was...

OOH! Two beautiful boxes - one labelled "Hello Gorgeous" and the other "Shiny Happy People"...

*ahem* Anyway... 

I love the way these boxes are decorated. 

The Shiny Happy People box came wrapped in yellow, floral embossed paper, secured with a yellow ribbon. Once I had carefully peeled this off, I was left with another brown box filled with the Wotsits! But under said Wotsits...

Everything smells like a toned down version of the shop - which is incredible! I love the smell of LUSH, but the shops themselves are too strong.
